Graham Ball, Founder and CEO of The Victoria Foundation, and eleven supporters of the charity are taking part in this once in a lifetime five day trekking or cycling challenge in Brazil. The team are aiming to raise £30,000 and have raised £27,000 as they are ready to leave! A huge thank you to all those who have sponsored the team members.
The funds raised will help to provide mobility aids for disabled children, toolkit grants for students studying medicine from disadvantaged backgrounds, and support a number of charities close to the hearts of team members including: Alzheimer’s Society, Bowel Cancer UK, British Red Cross, Tiffany Circle, Mobility Aids Service, Evelina Hospital Guy’s and St Thomas’ and the Stroke Association.
The trekkers will be walking for up to six hours a day in stunning scenery and at night sleeping in hostels. The cyclists will have the Atlantic Green Rain Forest on one side, the Atlantic Ocean on the other as they complete their 350km cycling challenge. The challenge finishes at the famous carnival city of Rio de Janeiro where the trekkers and cyclists will meet up for a celebration.
