‘The London to Brighton bike ride is iconic and I first did it in the 70’s when I was the only one wearing a helmet - times have changed! - It’s not a race just a lovely day out with fellow cyclists. [ Apart from Ditchling Beacon which is a killer hill just before Brighton.] And of course, I support TVF because I know all the good work they do from working at the New Victoria Hospital ‘
….Great day out ! Lovely weather. 60 miles , friendly fellow cyclists - the final hill at Ditchling Beacon nearly killed me but I made it to the top nonstop! A very big thank you to all my supporters and their wonderful donations that will be put to very good use at the Victoria Foundation helping to transform lives.’
A message from Graham Ball, NVH Executive Chairman and TVF Founder & CEO
'Klaus is an absolute star and I am delighted to sponsor him. I am sure he wouldn’t mind me saying that he is not in the first flush of youth so his commitment to this ride is all the more impressive. He has long been a firm supporter of TVF because of all the works we do that he cares deeply for - mobility aids for kids, support for disadvantaged kids so they may become the doctors of tomorrow and accessible transport for the elderly and infirm in our borough. Klaus is an old school gentleman who deserves our support. '
The fantastic amount raised by Klaus will help to fund an urgently requested power wheelchair for a medical student at Brighton and Sussex University. The chair will enable the final year student to attend hospital placement ward rounds and for her to be able to focus on learning which will help to ensure she will graduate and go on to work in the NHS.
