Medical support transforming lives

The Victoria Foundation helping to transform young lives in the local community

The Victoria Foundation is delighted to have awarded a grant of £16,330 to Bedelsford Special School in Kingston, the outstanding amount they so urgently needed to purchase a large size Innowalk for the older pupils who have physical, profound or complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

An Innowalk - similar to a cross trainer - mimics the movement of walking for those who find it difficult to, or who cannot, walk at all. This specialist equipment helps to improve circulation and cardiovascular function, reduce risk of respiratory infections, supports stronger bones and more flexible joints, helps to improve digestive function, and overall improvement in gross motor skills and mobility.

The grant was possible from the proceeds of TVF’s recent annual ball which raised over £47,000 which will fund support for Carers and their cared for through the work of Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston and additional medical equipment and support to those facing great hardship.
