TVF awards a £10,000 grant to Crossroads Care Richmond & Kingston from the proceeds of The Big Night In

The Victoria Foundation is delighted to have awarded a grant of £10,000 to Crossroads Care Richmond & Kingston from the proceeds of The Big Night to fund high-quality bespoke Therapy Sessions for Carers of all ages and their cared-for using the therapy rooms which TVF funded the refurbishment of in 2020. The grant will help to support some hard to reach families and those in our community most affected by COVID-19 including those socially isolated, most vulnerable, at-risk and financially affected.

Funds from 2019 enabled us to convert our downstairs rooms into long-awaited holistic therapy rooms. Funds raised from the 2020 ‘Big Night In’ will help to ensure that we can continue offering holistic therapies, such as massage and reiki to our Carers, the people they care for, our staff and volunteers. The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected Carers, with our waiting list doubling in the past three months, and Carers have reported feeling anxious and isolated. In these challenging times, respite and therapy has never been more essential. Thank you to The Victoria Foundation and all who donated. Your support is greatly appreciated.”

“Massage therapy is a great way to encourage the body and mind to rest and relax. As a result there can be many positive effects including alleviating pain, encouraging a more restful sleep and increasing energy levels. Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically. The purpose of the treatment is to help relieve pain and stress, promote relaxation, release emotional blockages and help to accelerate the body’s natural ability to heal. Thanks to you and The Victoria Foundation, we are able to offer massage treatments and reiki to all those we support.
