Lorna Votier, TVF's Development Director, and a group of supporters completed the 10km walk in Richmond Park on Sunday 2nd May to celebrate Captain Tom's fundraising legacy and to raise funds to help TVF provide toolkit grants for medical students who are facing great financial hardship during their studies.
TVF would like to say a huge thank you to those who took part, for their donations and to all those who have sponsored the team.
The challenge has raised over £800 which will help to provide toolkit grants for three medical students to support their studies. TVF aims to provide Toolkit Grants to over 100 medical students each year - please donate NOW and help to support the NHS junior doctors of the future.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on charities, including The Victoria Foundation, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut servicea and some have even shut down - Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause.
Thank you so much for any support you can give and for keeping Captain Tom's legacy alive!
