Big congratulations to TVF's supporters who completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon on August 1st and raised over £3,000! A big thank you to all their such truly generous sponsors.
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. The event was not your average half marathon! The 2021 event celebrated the grand, quirky and hidden landmark moments of 2020 and 2021. While participants ran past some of London’s most spectacular landmarks, LLHM shone a light on how we are coming together as a nation during the Covid-19 pandemic.
If you would like to take part in the LLHM on 3rd April 2022 in aid of The Victoria Foundation you can enter the ballot NOW! www.llhm.co.uk/ballot and is free for runners to enter. What our runners said
‘On Sunday 1 August I completed the London Landmarks Hald Marathon, running with TVF to raise funds for CCRK. It was an amazing event to be a part of. LLHM did a great job with live music, people cheering us on and plenty of drinks stations and showers along the route to cool us down, not to mention all the amazing London Landmarks. I loved the atmosphere of the crowds - the buzz helped me to get round, especially the second half when I had to dig deep to keep going. I would highly recommend taking part in an event like LLHM as it’s a great way to keep motivated with your running, to have a focus and a goal, and raising funds to help others feels great. I would like to send heartfelt thanks to every single person who sponsored me, just knowing that I was helping others gave me my reason to get round.’ JULIET
‘It was my first time taking part in an event like this and what an amazing experience! The atmosphere up there was so warm and welcoming. Live music all the way round and such a supportive crowd made the experience even more enjoyable! I loved taking part in the London landmarks half marathon and cannot recommend it enough, it was a pretty special feeling completing this challenge and crossing the finish line. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, I was very proud and grateful to be able to support this charity.’ JESS
'London Landmarks Half Marathon was a fantastic event – running on closed roads, passing all those old and new famous buildings and thousands of people whilst raising the profile of and funds for The Victoria Foundation! Loved it all. And it was ideal training for the London Marathon which I am running for TVF. I can see now that I still have more training to do…' IVAN Headteacher Strathmore Schools
'Race day was a lot of fun. Running around the closed streets of London was a unique experience. I'd like to thank everyone that donated and came down to support, it gave me the extra motivation I needed to finish. The money we raised will make a big difference. Thank You.' MATT
'For my first half marathon, what could have been better than running in the shadows of the great landmarks that define our city! It was incredible to see all the runners running for brilliant charities and the supporter that lined such a breathtaking route. All the cheering definitely boosted me through the last 2 miles and I may have cried a little when I saw the finish line. It was an unforgettable experience and I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to take up a charity challenge! Speaking of charities, I would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all our fantastically generous sponsors! We were overwhelmed by all your support and because of your generosity, the Flynn Twins were able to absolutely smashed our target of £300 and raised £721 for The Victoria Foundation! Honestly, your money will make such a difference to those who really need it. I can't wait to run my next half marathon and thank you so much again. EMMA (50% of the FlynnTwins)
